Staff at Bradford’s RSPCA centre are appealing for cat lovers to come forward to adopt a pet after being inundated with felines in need of a new home in recent weeks.

Deputy animal centre manager Alison Belcher said: “At the moment we are caring for more than 100 cats and kittens at the centre, and a number of these are in need of new homes.”

She said the Mount Street centre is running a half price cat adoption offer, down from £55.

The busy cattery hopes to provide the many cats which have come to them as strays with new adoptive homes as soon as possible.

The centre is also appealing for food to help feed the extra mouths, and there is a page on networking site Facebook –search for RSPCA Bradford and District.
