A campaigning group of mums showed their support for recent changes to the law with a celebratory breastfeeding event at an Ilkley landmark yesterday.
More than a dozen mothers turned out at the Cow and Calf rocks to feed their children on the first day of National Breastfeeding Awareness Week (NBAW).
The group, Airedale Mums, who promote breastfeeding and a natural approach to childbirth and child rearing, were celebrating recent changes to the law which make it illegal for anybody to ask a woman not to breastfeed her baby in public.
The aim of the NBAW is to raise awareness of the health benefits, increase social awareness and promote support for breastfeeding.
