Young cyclists from five schools in Otley will take on a ride into North Yorkshire on Thursday to help them improve their cycling skills.
Pupils in the Five Schools Five Challenges event will be led by trainers from Leeds City Council’s road safety promotion unit and the TravelWise team on a ride from Otley through Leathley up to Almscliffe Crag.
At the halfway point, there will be five fun activities with prizes for each activity.
Activities will include a cycle obstacle race and a five-a-side penalty shoot out and more.
The five schools involved are Otley All Saints, The Whartons, Ashfield, Westgate, and St Josephs.
Councillor Richard Lewis said: “This event provides a great opportunity for children to put into practice their cycling skills and improve on their knowledge of road safety.”
The event is part of National Bike Week.
