Police searches of land behind flats where self- proclaimed “Crossbow Cannibal” Stephen Griffiths lived were set to end today.
Forensic officers have spent several weeks combing culverts, waste bins and derelict land close to Holmfield Court, Thornton Road, Bradford, for clues to the whereabouts of missing prostitutes Susan Rushworth, Shelley Armitage and Suzanne Blamires.
Most of the dismembered remains of Miss Blamires, 36, and body tissue from Miss Armitage, 31, were found in the River Aire at Shipley and Saltaire, where underwater searches are continuing. There has been no sign of Miss Rushworth, 43.
Police are continuing to search the flat where Griffiths, 40, lived. He is awaiting trial charged with the murders of all three women.
