A banker from India is helping Bradford firms develop their international trade.
Jaideep Kalra, has moved to the UK to join as an international commercial manager with HSBC as part of a 30-strong team across the North supporting the growing number of businesses already trading internationally and turning to global trade.
Mr Kalra will be responsible for the delivery of HSBC’s international financial and banking expertise across 85 countries to businesses in Bradford and beyond. He will use his experience and contact network among Indian companies to help firms aiming to grow their interests overseas. He said: “Looking to new international markets is helping companies to emerge as winners in these trying times and Bradford in particular has always been an example of this, most notably because it boasts a multi-cultural population and thriving commercial base.
“UK businesses have long been exposed to globalisation, whereas Indian businesses have taken long strides in the last decade.
‘Global markets hold tremendous potential for UK-based businesses to enhance their offerings by leveraging strong ties with the developing world and a truly multicultural heritage to deliver increased performance.”
