June is a busy month for veterans. On Saturday it’s the Lord Mayor's civic service at 11.30 hours in the Cathedral, with standards raised in Centenary Square at 10.45 hours.
On Monday a flag-raising is in the Square at 11.00 hours for Armed Forces Day. Thursday, June 24, sees the veterans lunch at City Hall at 12.00 hours. There is a Freedom of the City parade for the 3rd Battalion The West Yorkshire Regiment on Friday, June 25, with a reception in City Hall. On Sunday, June 27, the veterans village is in Centenary Square with a drum head service and parade of standards at 11.00 hours.
DIARY DATES: Today: Bradford branch of the Royal Naval Association meets in the Feversham Street headquarters of the Bradford Sea Cadets at 20.00 hours. Prince of Wales Own Association meets at Bradford Moor Conservative Club at 19.30 hours.
Wednesday: Coldstream Guards Association meets at Northcliffe Golf Club, Saltaire, at 19.30 hours. Green Howards Association meets in the Headingley Club, Leeds, at 13.30 hours. Keighley branch of the Royal British Legion meets in Holingsroyd House, Lord Street, at 19.30 hours.
