More than 1,000 people went to see the fun – and join in too – at Riddlesden Gala, near Keighley on Saturday.
The event raised around £3,000 for Haworth Riding for the Disabled and the Special Olympians.
A colourful procession led by Darwen Brass Band and featuring the Silsden All Stars majorettes, uniformed groups and fancy dress entrants wound its way through the village to St Mary’s Primary School at the start of the event. A street collection taken during the parade raised £188 for the two charities. Other activities included a barbecue, bouncy castle, coconut shy, wet sponge throwing and a raffle.
Geoffrey Baldwin, chairman of the gala committee, said: “It was a really good, happy day. To raise what we have is fantastic in the current economic climate. I would like to thank all our sponsors.”
