England’s opening World Cup match against the United States this evening will benefit the Bradford Burns Unit Appeal to the tune of £100 – and possibly much more.

The T&A have teamed up with Ladbrokes to place a £100 charity bet on Fabio Capello’s men beating the USA 2-0 in South Africa.

At odds of 11-2, that would mean £650 heading to the Burns Unit. But even if the score is different, the bookmakers have agreed to donate the £100 stake to the Burns Unit charity.

Ladbrokes area manager Allan Sykes said: “We are expecting this World Cup to be huge. Interest in England is growing day by day.

“We wish our boys all the best and hope a win against the USA is just the start of a long journey in the tournament for them.”
