A house which was turned into a shrine for England’s 2006 World Cup campaign is again proudly flying the flag of St George.
Debbie Hawkins and her family and friends have decorated her house inside and out in Greystones Drive, Bracken Bank, Keighley, in support of the national football team in the World Cup in South Africa.
Debbie said their similarly colourful effort in 2006 generated a positive response. “We had the television and even the fridge outside,” she said. “A lot of people will be coming to watch the matches at our house again.
“We are very big supporters of the England side. We hope they will do better this time around. I’ve got a funny feeling that they could do it this year. A lot more people seem to be flying England flags than during the last World Cup.”
