Which is your Ideal Resort?

When taking cheap Bodrum region holidays you will be provided with some exceptional weather and beaches. This area of Turkey is located in the south west of Turkey and lays on the Aegean Sea. The weather here is typically Mediterranean and will provide you with mild and pleasant winters with occasional rainfall found in December and January but the summers, usually from April, are long, hot and sunny with the temperature regularly topping the forty degrees Celsius mark in the peak of summer. The typical Mediterranean climate is ever present here.

There are many areas of interest in the Bodrum region and one of them being the Bodrum Castle in the actual town of Bodrum. It is a medieval building and is one of the worlds best preserved monuments. The castle is a prominent landmark in this area and provides many spectacular views. It is now a museum of underwater archaeology and attracts many visitors every year. An alternative excursion will be one of the Greek Islands close the Bodrum coastline. Boat trips are available from many resorts in this area, to the islands of either Kos or Rhodes and are well worth a visit.

BODRUM A town full of history with many places to explore. It is a bustling town with many shops and markets. A fabulous and modern harbour area where you can enjoy a light refreshment by day and a superb evening meal on the night. Not a very inviting beach but this is compensated by the beach in Gumbet which is only a couple of minutes away on a Dolmus. Forty minutes transfer from Bodrum airport making it ideal for families with small children but also does appeal to couples and single travellers wanting to experience the traditional Turkish way of life with many landmarks and places of interest to discover.

GUMBET This area is basically a base for the party goers with plenty of bars and nightclubs within the resort. Gumbet provides a great stretch of sandy coastline where many of the resorts hotels line the beach. It is around a forty five minute transfer time from Bodrum airport. Bodrum is only a few minutes from Gumbet where you can visit many museums and places of interest.

ORTAKENT This resort will present you with many Blue Flag beaches and best seas in the Bodrum region. It is located seven kilometres from the town of Bodrum and has a very laid back and tranquil atmosphere and has a big traditional Turkish presence about it.

TURGUTREIS This is the second largest town in the Bodrum region. It has many shops and bustling markets you can take advantage of. It probably has the best area of coastline in the area too with more than five kilometres of sandy beaches. It is a longer transfer from Bodrum airport and will take approximately one hour.

YALIKAVAK Only eighteen kilometres from the town of Bodrum so is very accessible should you want to visit Bodrum. It was formally the regions main area for fishing and is still apparent today. It is not a very developed area hence why you will find it a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. You will also be presented with beautiful sandy beaches that have an amazing lush green backdrop. It is a resort that mixes old and new.

BITEZ This area has the true traditional Turkish charm. It is located eight kilometres away from Bodrum town offering magnificent beaches, many of which have been presented Blue Flag awards. It is a fairly quiet resort however; it doesn't have a shortage of things going on. This area would be suitable for families and couples.

ALTINKUM This is one of the more popular resorts with something for everyone. The name Altinkum means golden sands and it is not short of them here and they are accompanied by beautiful clear blue seas. There is a lot of nightlife that is mainly centred on the waterfront area with the nightclubs taking over later on in the resort centre. .

This entire region has something for all different types of holiday makers from the young and lively, party goers to families and cheap Bodrum region holidays are pretty easy to come by. It is well worth a visit and if you are considering a holiday to this area, no matter what your needs and requirements are, you definitely won't be disappointed.
