Commuters faced rush hour traffic chaos in Bradford city centre this morning.
The problems were caused in Hall Ings, where the road from the direction of Jacobs Well roundabout was reduced from two lanes to one as work continued on the Park at the Heart.
This caused traffic to back up in Hall Ings and the jams stretched up Manchester Road, down past the Alhambra, up Sun-bridge Road and back along Thornton Road.
Matters were made worse by traffic wanting to turn right off Hall Ings into the NCP car park and, further along, right up Bridge Street, causing even more delays in the single lane section.
At one stage drivers saw the traffic lights at Jacobs Well go through two of three sequences while they stood still.
