Firefighters fought a blaze after a faulty tumble dryer set fire to laundry at a house in Bradford.
The householder and her children had gone out, leaving the dryer on in the utility room of their home in Meadway, Woodside.
Crews from Odsal and Bradford were called after a neighbour smelled burning at about 8.15pm yesterday.
A fire service spokesman said the blaze had been confined to the utility room but had badly damaged the washer, dryer and a boiler above. The house also suffered smoke damage.
