A printing company is investing another £500,000 in equipment as it completes its third record business month in a row.

Dominion Screen & Digital Print, which employs 60 people at its Wibsey base, grew its turnover by 40 per cent last year and invested £1m in two new presses, taking total investment in recent years to £4m.

As demand continues to grow, the 25 year-old firm is set to install another press and finishing equipment.

The company specialises in large- format work and has grown to become one of the largest players in its field in the UK.

Linzi Gittings, sales director, said the business had continued to thrive throughout the recession.

She said: “Demand has grown substantially during the past year and this month we are set to complete our third record month in a row.

“We have continued to invest in the latest specialist equipment and are also prepared to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.”

One recent contract was to supply an 8m by 1m banner for another local printing firm to promote Bradford’s City of Film status.

Wheelden Print in Wakefield Road is one of a growing number of firms that have rallied to a call by the city’s Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Bradford becoming the first Unesco City of Film.

Peter Minchella, managing director, said: “We decided to put up the banner on our building as we are on a major artery into the city and it will be seen by thousands of people every day “We don’t do large-format printing ourselves so sourced the vinyl banner from Dominion.

“Becoming the City of Film is good news for Bradford and should help boost the city’s image, which can only be good for business.”

Among other Bradford businesses supporting the City of Film are solicitors Schofield Sweeney and JCT 600 BMW which will sponsor the next Bradford film festival.
