A Bingley soldier who led an eight-man team in Afghanistan is now set to train Yorkshire colleagues in the Kenyan desert.
Former Bingley Grammar School pupil Corporal Andrew Florence, 27, has just begun Askari Thunder, a six-week operation.
He will be among 126 soldiers from the Yorkshire Regiment to train troops set to depart for war-torn Afghanistan in the autumn.
Cpl Florence, who joined the Army in 2006, said he was relishing the prospect of deploying to Kenya.
During his recent Operational Tour in Afghanistan he was employed as a Section Commander, leading a team on the ground against the Taliban in Operation Panther’s Claw.
