Ladies of a certain age, prepare to swoon – there’s a Bay City Roller on his way to our neck of the woods.
Eric Faulkner (pictured) was the baby-faced guitarist with the Rollers who, back in the Seventies, sparked mass hysteria among teenage girls and a bizarre trend for tartan trouser suits.
He performed the soundtrack for a generation, but there’s more to him than tartan trousers and platform shoes, as he’ll show at Korks in Otley tomorrow as part of the venue’s True Troubadours season.
Eric plays guitar, piano, fiddle and mandoliin and his first public performance was aged 12 playing viola with the Edinburgh Schools’ Youth Orchestra.
Eric occasionally performs with Eric Faulkner’s Bay City Rollers but can usually be found playing solo acoustic sets, with much of his own material inspired by folk tales.
“Eric is one of the biggest names to play here and we’ve seen a big demand for tickets,” says Korks manager Chris Payne.
