A warm and sunny day gave a boost to Addingham’s chances in the Yorkshire in Bloom competition, but poorer weather greeted the judges in Ilkley.
The judges were paying their first visit of the year for the spring round of judging.
Addingham Garden Friends took them on a tour of the village.
The group hosted a tea, at which the judges were joined by representatives from the village.
Members of Ilkley in Bloom found the weather was against them for their judging. The judges were taken on a tour of the town, stopping at Darwin Gardens Millennium Green, Wells Road.
The latest addition to the green, willow sheep created by local schoolchildren, were said to be a hit. But the judges pointed out some weeds.
Entrants get feedback after the spring judging, with the results announced in September.
