The search has begun to find Bradford’s catwalk stars of the future.

The Telegraph & Argus Modelsearch 2010 contest is open to people aged four and over, with the fantastic prize of being represented by professional agency DK Models for a year. Entrants will be invited to the heats at the Kirkgate Centre, Bradford, on Sunday, May 16, from which the finalists will be chosen.

The lucky ones will return to the shopping centre on Bank Holiday Monday, May 31, for the final.

Catherine Riley, manager of the Kirkgate Centre which is also a partner in the competition, said: “We are very excited about another Modelsearch event.

“We hope those taking part will enjoy the experience and gain an insight into the world of modelling.”

Sissi Crespo Gonzalez, 18, of Bradford, was one of last year’s overall winners and was rewarded with a year’s free representation with DK Models. She is also being used as the Kirkgate Modelsearch Face for the 2010 event.

Previous winners include Alisha Briscoe, Mikie Price, Jade Hodgson and Joseph Qureshi, who were successful in the 2009 and 2006 competitions.

Winners have featured in campaigns for Argos, Vidal Sassoon and Sports Direct.

DK Models owner Kathy Holdsworth said: “From all the finalists of this year’s competition, we will potentially choose one male and one female to be represented by our agency.”

The competition is divided into four age categories – four to six, seven to ten, 11 to 15 and 16 and above, with no upper age or size limit.

Eight winners will be chosen – a male and female from each of the four age categories – with £500-worth of shopping vouchers and prizes to be divided among them.

To enter, complete the form in the T&A and return it by Wednesday, May 5. Forms are also available at the Kirkgate Centre.
