An inquest into the death of a seven year-old boy after a road accident near his Bradford home was opened and adjourned today.
Israr Saad, a pupil at St Matthew’s School, died at Bradford Royal Infirmary on Friday after he was in an accident with a car near Morrisons supermarket in Mayo Avenue.
Israr, of Mayo Drive, is understood to have moved with his family to Bradford from Scotland last year. His funeral was being held today.
Children at the school, in Mayo Avenue, were told about the tragedy on their return from the Easter holidays.
Witnesses to the accident, which involved a Skoda Octavia at about 2.05pm, should call the Major Collision Enquiry Team at West Yorkshire Police, on (01924) 293047.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed pending further inquiries.
