A ladies’ choir based in Menston is moving to new rehearsal rooms and offering additional places for new singers.
Ladies Please is offering places for three contraltos and two sopranos. The choir says an ability to read music is not essential, but the skill would be useful.
Organisers say the choir’s repertoire is wide-ranging and exciting, and spans the ages of popular music. The group sings at venues near and far, at concerts, weddings, and in retirement and nursing homes.
Since its formation in 2006, the choir has raised more than £7,000 for charities at home and abroad.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the choir is invited to get in touch. Prospective members can contact the musical director, Arnold Boddy, on (01943) 870924, or the choir secretary, Elizabeth Sharp, on (01943) 872067.
