A man who harassed his neighbours by pinning up photographs of them, playing his TV loudly and shouting abuse has been given an anti-social behaviour order.

Bradford Magistrates' Court heard that Lance Royal Windsor had pinned up abusive pictures of his neighbours in the windows of his house at Rathmell Street, Bankfoot.

In one case he put a picture of his neighbour Elaine Kershaw in his window saying that she was a prostitute and another of Ian Ellis with a can of Skol lager claiming that he was a drunk. Under the terms of the order, Windsor is now banned from taking pictures of his neighbours.

Prosecutor Nigel Hamilton told the court that Windsor's behaviour had become increasingly bizarre between January and November 2005. Mr Hamilton said he had been playing his music and TV very loud and had verbally abused his neighbours.

Windsor, 37, had also sent a cassette tape tied with pink ribbon with the love song 'I Was Waiting For a Girl Like You' on it to Yvonne Batey.

At the start of his trial on three counts of harassment yesterday Windsor changed his plea to guilty. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £150 prosecution costs.

His solicitor, Ray Singh, told the court his neighbours had made a number of false allegations about his client in the past. He said they had told police he had breached his interim ASBO made six months ago although the police had found no evidence.

Mr Singh said Windsor called himself "a bit eccentric", saying he was a one-off character. He said: "Anything that goes wrong in the area, the first person they look at is Lance Windsor. That's because he's different. It's not a crime to be different, he just wants to be unique."

Windsor is banned under the ASBO from:

l engaging in conduct likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, insulting or abusive words or behaviour

l playing loud music or television programmes at excessive volume

l photographing or filming any person without their consent except for the detection of crime

l displaying abusive or insulting photographs, words or material relating to a third person

l contacting five named people.
