Club captain Craig Sug-den implored his fellow players not to let what has been a good season fizzle out after the side got back to winning ways without him last Saturday.

The big defender was due to play against Arm-thorpe Welfare at the weekend but only made the bench after showing signs of the gastric bug that has hit many people in Bradford.

"I thought we deserved the win and it helped us put the last two games behind us," said Sugden, who watched the entire game from the dugout.

The previous two NCE Premier Division fixtures had ended in defeat for Thackley.

That was in stark contrast to the ten games that came before. They saw the club claim 30 points from a run of straight victories. Thackley also had an excellent run in the FA Vase.

"After losing two games, it was important to get back in the points," added the skipper.

"We have done so well it would be a total waste to just let things peter out. The runs we have had took a lot out of the players but it also showed what we are capable of as a club.

"There are eight or nine games left for the clubs in our division - that is a quarter of a season.

"Nobody would dream of coasting or taking it easy over any other fourth of the campaign.

"It would be unthinkable, so I think we should realise that the 24 or 27 points are still to be played for.

"We want to finish as high as we can, and that means taking as many of those points as we can."
