Keighley specialist printing firm OPM has swept the board in the print industry's European 'Oscars'.

The company, based at Speedprint House in Cross Roads, received a record 11 EFTA awards.

OPM, which specialises in trial packaging for cosmetics and healthcare companies, also won five highly-commended awards.

It scored a hat-trick by winning the gold, silver and bronze awards in the flexible packaging category of the European Flexographic Technical Association Print Awards.

The awards -- regarded as the Oscars of the print industry -- were presented by former international athlete Roger Black at a ceremony in Birmingham.

OPM received 11 EFTA awards -- four gold, four silver and three bronze prizes, including a gold environmental award for specialist production of an innovative water soluble label.

They swept the board in the flexible packaging categories, with wins including gold, silver and bronze for packaging and a gold award for a high quality self adhesive label.

OPM provides flexible packaging and specialist labels to a range of commercial partners, including major health and cosmetics companies, supermarkets, food manufacturers and brewing groups.

The print group has carved a successful niche in the market for high quality trial packaging for some of the world's top brands.

OPM managing director Chris Ellison said: "I am particularly pleased that we have dominated the flexible packaging category.

"We have only been producing flexibles for four years and have quickly demonstrated our capability to deliver great quality.

"These awards are a great endorsement of our commitment to the finest standards in print."

He added: "We are delighted to have won across a range of categories.

"The European Flexographic Technical Association is a highly regarded technical body, and its assessment of printers' technical quality is very important in the market place."

The group has developed a strong reputation for its technical excellence, and the latest wins mean a total of more than sixty international awards since 2003.

Mr Ellison said: "Naturally we are thrilled with our record number of awards, and are equally proud to be in the company of the world's most technically proficient printers."
