Liversedge missed the chance to return to the top of the Northern Counties East Premier Division after a rare defeat in midweek but they are still clear second and will expect to throw down the gauntlet once more tomorrow.

Leaders Buxton have games in hand but Sedge have a preferable run-in and are determined to put as much pressure on Nicky Law's side as they can.

"We didn't deserve to lose on Tuesday at Arnold Town, we hit the target on numerous occasions but they defended like demons to be fair to them," said Sedge manager Eugene Lacy.

"You get days like that when it just doesn't click. Buxton will not go unbeaten until the end of the season, no doubt about it. They will have similar days and they have far too many fixtures in a short space of time. They have been the most successful side in our division so far this season so that is a part of their pay-off for that record."

Lacy claimed the only injury from Tuesday was dented pride but he does have Gareth Hamlet to add to the 14 that were on duty. The fearless forward is back in contention after returning from a short break in New York.

Thackley are also at home, their visitors are Glasshoughton Welfare and the Bradford outfit will be looking to take all three points off their opponents.

"We are sixth, they are bottom half. We are at home and are expected to win," said Thackley head coach John Boyle.

"We have to fancy our chances but I will be reminding the players that there are no guarantees. Everyone is playing for something at this stage of the season and Glasshoughton will be keen to upset the applecart."

Thackley skipper Craig Sugden is missing a second consecutive game. He was ruled out of last Saturday's 1-0 victory over Armthorpe Welfare with gastro-enteritis but he is now unavailable.

Eccleshill United travel to Brodsworth MW and they will be hoping for a Bradford double because if they beat the basement outfit and Thackley prevent Glasshoughton from taking points, United's lingering relegation worries will be all but wiped out.
