Five men appeared in Court on Monday accused of the murder of Keighley police officer Sharon Beshenivsky.

Two of the men had appeared before a judge at a previous hearing accused of murdering the 38-year-old officer, who was shot in Morley Street, Bradford, on November 18, as she responded to an alarm call at a travel agents.

But it was confirmed that three other men, who had previously appeared on lesser charges in connection with the incident, had also been added to the murder indictment.

Yusuf Abdillh Jama, 19, Mussaker Imtiaz Shah, 24, Raza Haq Aslam, 24, Faisal Razzaq, 24, and Hassan Razzaq, 25, are all facing murder, robbery and firearms charges. Shah is also accused of the attempted murder of PC Teresa Milburn, who was shot and seriously injured alongside PC Beshenivsky in the same incident outside the Universal Express travel agents.

Jama, of Whitmore Road, Small Heath, Birmingham, and Shah, of no fixed address, appeared at Leeds Crown Court via a video link from Strangeways Prison, in Manchester. Aslam, of St Pancras Way, Kentish Town, north London, appeared via video link from Doncaster Prison.

Hassan Razzaq and his brother Faisal, both of Sebert Road, Forest Gate, east London, appeared in the dock in person flanked by three security guards.

All the men only spoke to confirm their names.

No pleas were entered.

All five men are due to go on trial at Leeds Crown Court later this year.

PC Beshenivsky, a mother of three children and two step-children, lived at Hainworth, near Keighley, with her husband Paul, a landscape gardener.
