Colin Todd is waiting for the OK from MK to keep Aaron Wilbraham.

Todd wants to hang on to the on-loan Milton Keynes Dons striker until the end of the season.

Wilbraham's month at Valley Parade is up after Saturday's clash with Scunthorpe and the City boss has already been in touch with his opposite number Danny Wilson.

But the Dons will not make a decision until the weekend when their own increasingly desperate position at the foot of League One will become clearer.

Tuesday night's home defeat to Brentford was their third in four games since beating City and left the Dons five points adrift at the bottom and six away from safety.

Todd is hopeful of getting the right response and believes City fans will see a sharper targetman if he is allowed to stay on.

"When you haven't played regular games, your fitness levels aren't the same and it does take a while," he said.

"When we brought in Dele Adebola last season, for the first month his

fitness wasn't the best. But then all of a sudden, from working with the team in training and playing games, we got a very different picture and he looked a much better player.

"Playing more games will bring Aaron on but it has made a difference to the team having him up there. He gives us something different in our play."

Tom Penford will miss the game against Scunthorpe with a slight knee ligament injury and there is a doubt over Steve Schumacher, who has sat out the last two with a thigh strain.

Todd said: "We've got to be careful with Schuey. I know there's only seven games to go but we don't want to push him too hard for Saturday and then find he has to miss all the others."

Tom Kearney could be in contention after recovering from a back problem, although he has been hit by a virus.
