Pool-in-Wharfedale is prep-aring to host Arthington Show as it celebrates its Centenary year.
The 2006 Arthington, Bramhope, Pool & District Horticultural & Agricultural Society Show will take place off Castley Lane, by Pool bridge, on Sunday, July 23.
Show Secretary Lesley Baines, of Bramhope, said the decision to move the show from its regular recent home at the top of Pool Bank, Bramhope, was to accommodate more entries and attractions.
She said: "This is our Centenary Show and it's going to be a big one so we needed a bigger venue, and this is a nice big, flat field.
"The show has actually moved around quite a bit over the years. We've been at the top of Pool Bank at Bramhope for a while but it's moved all over the place and been held in different parts of Pool and Arthington, too.
"It is the Arthington, Bramhope and Pool show after all, so it makes sense to move it around.
"People can expect to see a really bumper show this time, to mark the anniversary, and we're hoping to get a lot more people walking in from Pool.
"We're also aiming to attract a lot more children and there will be a lot of entertainment laid on."
Presided over by George Rice, the 2006 show will feature vintage tractors and machinery, a children's pets and dogs show, arts and crafts, home produce and a wide range of livestock and horse classes.
A full schedule and downloadable entry forms can be found at the show's website, www.arthingtonshow.co.uk, which proudly states: "We're determined to make this year's Centenary Show the best yet!"
