City's bid for League One survival is not done and dusted.

The Bantams protected their six-point cushion from the drop zone with Saturday's fightback at Walsall, a draw that edged them back into the top half of the table.

But skipper David Wetherall, who shot the equaliser at the Bescot, today warned against thinking that the job was already done after a couple of good results.

"We're certainly not there yet and

it would be dangerous to think otherwise," he said.

"It's such a strange league and there are a lot of teams between us and the drop zone but we still need to do more.

"Normally you'd be pretty safe on 49 points now, knowing that one more would reach the magic 50 which is the figure that everyone aims for from the beginning to avoid relegation. But it's going to take more than that this year.

"Should we lose the next couple of games and the gap narrows, then everyone starts getting nervous again.

"We've got to look at winning again next week and then we can breathe easier knowing that we'll only be a point or two off rubber-stamping it completely."

City have responded to the Oldham drubbing with four points from the games against Blackpool and Walsall - a much-needed haul which has played down fears of being dragged into the mire.

Wetherall added: "It's been a good week for us without a doubt.

"You look at the league table and change the last two results round. Put two defeats there instead of a win and a draw and we would be in big trouble now.

"But we've gone into the top half and the gap is still the same with games running out. It would have been nice to have gone on and won at Walsall but, given the situation we find ourselves in, it was not a bad result.

"You fear the worst going 2-0 down like that but having dug ourselves a hole we managed to get out of it. Not only did we pick up a point but we've also kept another side down there, which was important."

The squad were back in training this morning after being given a rare Monday off.
