TWO former Keighley Cougars trainees will be going head to head this weekend in the inaugural match of a different kind of university challenge.

Ten years of sport at the University of Lincoln will be celebrated when Andrew Parkinson and Adam Keating -- both from Keighley -- captain an 'old boys' side against the current rugby league side at the university, The Sharks.

The two sides do battle this Sunday for the Burton Cup, named after Mark Burton.

He set up the first ever rugby league side at the University of Lincoln ten years ago in 1996.

The old boys team has been reunited by former university team captain Andrew Parkinson, pictured above, right, and club president Adam Keating. Parkinson -- who hopes the game will become an annual event, said: "Getting all the lads back together has been great fun."

Sunday's match will see Parkinson and a number of former players from the uni's all-conquering side at the turn of the Millennium face their young rivals.

The years from 1999-2001 were good for many of the old boys side as they won back to back league titles.

Parkinson, 25, is a former South Craven student who also represented Wharfedale RUFC and England Students as well as summer rugby side Essex Eels.

Dean Muir, 19, is a former Oakbank pupil who also plays for Scotland Students.
