CHRIS Malherbe believes Wharfedale will bounce back to form at home to Blackheath tomorrow (writes Mike Crowther).

The centre has performed well for England Counties and the Barabarians this week but he is itching to get the Greens' last performance out of the system.

That saw Dale limp to a 28-7 defeat at struggling Stourbridge in one of their worst showings of the campaign. It was a rare occasion that they failed to pick up a single point and was only Stourbridge's second home win of the season.

Malherbe said: "The lads were really disappointed after the Stourbridge game. I believe the guys have been training quite hard while I've been away and have been doing some extra sessions. I think Blackheath could be in for a backlash.

"For the first 20 minutes against Stourbridge we played really well and then they scored two tries and we started to force things rather than calm things down."

The starting line-up sees one change with David Lister coming back into the second row and Oliver Renton dropping to the bench.

While Wharfedale's results at the Avenue have improved this year, Malherbe believes they have yet to fire on all cylinders in front of the Dale fans.

"We haven't had a home game where we've won convincingly for a while. I think we're due a really solid win," he said.
