National League Three North leaders Bradford & Bingley are annoyed that their clash at home to third-placed Nuneaton a week tomorrow has been postponed.

The match has been put back to Saturday, April 29 because the Midlanders have three players - centre Simon Brock-lehurst, winger Phil Reed and flanker John Munro - in the England Counties squad for the clash against France Amateurs in Beaune next weekend.

Bees head coach Geoff Wappett said: "April 29 is the date that was scheduled for the play-off between the runners-up in League Three North and League Three South.

"The England Counties side was originally set up to provide an incentive for players to take part in the County Championship, so to start breaking into a league campaign is not the brightest idea in Christendom.

"We had two players invited - fly half Tom Rhodes and flanker Neil Spence - but they turned the invitation down without a second's thought because they know how important the Nuneaton game is.

"But we have told the RFU that we would be delighted to support the England Counties XV at the end of the season if they have a tour."

The Bees are at home to Hull Ionians tomorrow and rest second row Bloues Volschenk (recurring Achilles injury). In comes Steve Burns, with Richard Hughes remaining on the bench. Ian Judson is moved to the bench so that Kern Yates can have a start in the back row.

Nuneaton are at Cleckheaton tomorrow, and the hosts are scenting an upset after successive defeats for the long-time leaders against Tynedale and the Bees.

"We have a momentum now and we want to keep that going, and if that means taking a point or winning we will be delighted," says Cleckheaton's Alan Bentley. "They won't relish coming to Moorend and they might be complacent. They will be expecting to win."

Chris Quinn is resting his injured hamstring so Mark Sales comes in at fly half. Iain Gordon is unavailable so Tom Gwilliam steps in at full back.
