Catalans Dragons aren't going to be a ship without a Rudder, according to Andy Lynch.

The Bulls prop is relishing the prospect of tackling the French outfit in their own backyard tomorrow night.

Much has been made of the fact Catalans are missing their mercurial Kiwi general Stacey Jones, who is out with a broken arm.

But Lynch believes the Super League newcomers have a ready-made replacement in Sean Rudder - his

former Castleford team-mate.

The Aussie stand-off had an ill-fated short spell at The Jungle in 2004 when injury and a lack of form saw him released early during their relegation year.

But Rudder, 27, bounced back amid the anonimity of France last season and is now shaping up well on his return to Super League.

Lynch said: "He had a few injuries at Cas and I don't think he ever really

settled but he's certainly doing it now.

"I spoke to him last year and he told me he was enjoying it in France.

"Sean's not a real directional player like Stacey Jones - he's different in style as a half-back - but he will help Catalans out. And I think it will help him being the main man now Jones isn't there."

Lynch, speaking from the Bulls'

training base in Perpignan, added: "I went to see the Dragons at Cas on Sunday when they lost but they'll be a different side again over here and we have to take everything with a pinch of salt.

"It's a trip into the unknown - we must just concentrate on doing the

little things right and improve again on the Salford match."
