Aaron Wilbraham has double the reason to be an instant hit at Valley Parade.

Wilbraham goes straight into the side against Blackpool tomorrow hoping for the right result to help City - and his full-time club MK Dons.

The lanky striker can boost the survival chances of both during his month's loan, which includes several clashes against other clubs involved in the relegation logjam.

"I'll try and give 100 per cent for Bradford and help them pull away from the relegation zone," said Wilbraham. "But I can also do MK Dons a big favour by beating some of the teams around them."

Wilbraham turned down loan bids from Peterborough, Bournemouth and Notts County after becoming a father only seven weeks ago. But he is happy to link up with City, who are allowing him to train with the Dons during the week.

The 26-year-old former Hull hitman said: "We've got no other family in Milton Keynes and I didn't want to leave my fiancee on her own with the baby. But Colin Todd agreed to let me stay down and come up the day before a game. As soon as he said that I was really up for joining Bradford. Danny Wilson says I'm a bit unlucky not to be in the MK Dons side but I just want to be playing football.

"I could understand not being in the team when we had a couple of good results. But after losing 5-0 at Huddersfield I really expected him to make some changes and bring me back. Instead I was only on the bench - and when I did come on it was in goal!"

After his bizarre introduction to his new team-mates last week, Wilbraham trained with them for the first time today.

He added: "I know Owen Morrison and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson from my Stockport days and it's not a problem only meeting up with the other lads the day before. I went to Oldham on loan last season and only trained with them on Fridays and it worked out very well.

"Danny Wilson won't let me go out for more than a month and I'm happy with that. Colin Todd needs someone to come in while Dean Windass is suspended and hopefully I can do the job.

"The main thing is about the team winning a few games to get them out of trouble."

Skipper David Wetherall said: "We're all hoping he will come in and make an impact. We've been missing a target man and it's up to us to use him properly."
