Actress Jenny Agutter is once again returning to the railway that helped catapult her to stardom 36 years ago.

She will be guest of honour at the Cystic Fibrosis Trust's annual Railway Children Walk and fun day on April 30.

The walk encompasses locations from the classic 1970 movie version of Edith Nesbit's novel, filmed on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

Miss Agutter --- who starred in the movie as Roberta and more recently featured in BBC drama Spooks -- will open the fun day, in Haworth Park, at 10.30am, and then lead the walk at 11am. She was also a guest last year.

Miss Agutter is a patron of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which funds research into and treatment of the disease. She became aware of the condition after learning that her niece was a sufferer and that the faulty gene was in her family. She herself is a carrier.

Tina Davis-Johnstone, from the trust, said: "This is the fourth year we have staged this event and it gets ever more popular each year.

"We have raised more than £40,000 over the last three years and hope to raise even more this year. Funds help us to continue our gene therapy research, which we hope will stop cystic fibrosis from claiming so many young lives."

Cystic fibrosis is caused by a defective gene that clogs the internal organs.
