Old and new haunts will feature in this summer's sequel to last year's Keighley Festival ghost walk.

Tour guide Malcolm Hanson is seeking stories of modern-day ghosts to spice up his trek around the town centre.

He wants Keighley people to tell him about their experiences as he prepares Keighley's Darkest Secrets II.

The walks will run during this year's Keighley Festival, from July 3-16, after Keighley Gala on July 1.

Malcolm plans to return to the area bordered by East Parade, Coney Lane, Church Green and Low Street.

Malcolm said he had already uncovered several contemporary hauntings to join classic tales from last year's tour.

He said: "The Royal Arcade in East Parade was the scene of an outbreak of paranormal activity while being renovated.

"There is the Cricketer's Arms on Coney Lane, where a phantom sits in the window.

"The old Electricity Board building has a ghost called Joe who still shines his lamp at people.

"There will also be visits to some of the most frightening spots, with updates on the Parkwood Street horror, and the most haunted mill in Keighley."

Anyone with ghost stories to tell can contact Malcolm on 01756 709275 or e-mail info@malcolmhanson.co.uk.

Keighley Festival committee will hold its next planning meeting next Friday at 7pm at the Russell Street Project in central Keighley.

Committee members will meet with officials from Bradford Arts and Festival Council next week to discuss to flagship events such as the Curry Event, schools art project and vintage vehicle rally.

They will also discuss possible funding and marketing as part of the "Big Summer" of events planned for Bradford district.
