Keighley Town 16 Queensbury 10 - DAZ LYNHAM put Town on their way to victory with an impressive opening try against Queensbury. Coach Dave O'Connor added the goal to give his side an emphatic start to the game.

After Queensbury had eased back into the game with an unconverted try Chris Ellison produced a double blow that was to secure victory for the Keighley side. His first try was not converted to give Town a 10-4 lead.

The Bradford side were not going down without a fight and they levelled the scores before Ellison blasted through untouched by the defence to put Town ahead. O'Connor's goal put them 16-10 up at half time.

There was no further score as both teams put in tough defensive stints after the break with Town holding on to the win.

There were superb performances from Rob Spencer, Andrew Stokes and Ian Bradley, with Lawson outstanding in the second row.

The victory gives the side a great confidence boost in the run up to their Halifax Cup semi-final clash with Elland.
