The victory over Witton Albion last weekend brought the clubs within a point of each other but more importantly it re-opened Guiseley's interest in the UniBond Premier Division play-offs.

Neil Parsley's men may have had a bad spell but, following the maximum

against sixth-placed Witton, they are now just four points adrift of near-

neighbours Farsley Celtic, who currently occupy the last play-off place. If Guiseley have had their rough patch and can string a run together, they

will put themselves into the frame for the end-of-season extras.

In fact they could be in

a very strong position because the pressure is on the others.

Manager Parsley is re-nowned for holding his cards close to his chest - he is not a headline-seeker, preferring his players and their results to promote the club.

However, privately he will be feeling his side are back in with a chance of rewarding the club's supporters.

With skipper Jeremy

Ill-ingworth back in the central midfield berth

following a long-term injury, things are likely to take an upturn.

The club captain pro-vides the bite and the determination in the

middle of the park and, along with the vastly experienced Mark Stuart, much of the ammunition for the strikers.

Illingworth has been missed but he came through his comeback game last Saturday and went close to marking his return with a goal.

His shot early in the

second half was well saved by the Witton keeper.
