Kildwick jazz singer Clare Teal is recording the main song for the soundtrack of upcoming movie These Foolish Things.
Her rendition of Some Things Are Meant to Be comes as Clare prepares for a national tour.
Clare, a BBC Radio 2 presenter, will perform at King's Hall, Ilkley, on April 9, and York's Grand Opera House, on June 18.
These Foolish Things follows a young actress hoping to emulate her mother on the London stage before the Second World War.
The film stars rising British actress Zoe Tapper alongside Lauren Bacall, Anjelica Huston and Terence Stamp.
Clare's song has been written by the film's director, Julia Taylor-Stanley, in the style of standards from the golden days of American songwriting.
Some Things Are Meant to Be will be on the movie's soundtrack album, released by Sony/BMG on March 6.
The film's release marks the beginning of a huge UK tour by Clare in advance of a new album later this year.
