Three Horses 0 Stanbury 5 - Three Horses restricted their opponents to a two goal lead in the first period but lacked a cutting edge up front. The first goal came from a corner which Ben Furness headed home and the second was an overhead kick.

The second half saw a lively contest, but Stanbury gradually gained control, finding the net three times without reply.

In the first half their was little to choose between the two teams with Victoria scoring the only goal.

After the break they stepped up a gear, put on all three substitutes and took complete control, scoring three goals without reply. Victoria's scorers were Andrew Holden (3), and Steve Davis, who scored the goal of the match.

The George players had an early night to prepare to their quarter-final clash - but did not wake up until half time.

Their defence was caught napping in the first 10 minutes with their keeper having to pick the ball out of his net.

Two speedy Juniors forwards took advantage of a supply of long balls and the third goal came from a disputed penalty.

In the second half George became more competitive and Gareth Marshall found the net for their first goal only for Juniors to hit back almost immediately.

Philip Poole reduced the arrears to 4-2 and they missed a sitter to pull back to within one goal. The conceded two more goals despite keeper Adrian Powis pulling off some excellent saves.

There was little to choose between the two teams throughout the 90 minutes and while Albert had the better of the first half they went in a goal down at the break.

Victoria went further ahead after the interval but Albert hit back with two goals to level the scores.

The winner came from a disputed goal following claims for offside.

Albert's scorers were Billy Horton and Tim Feather with Chris Brookes, Peter Busfield and man of the match Mark Cryer on target for Victoria.
