A man who will be part the first British team to head to the summit of Mount Everest next month will be wearing a reminder of home every time he sees the team logo.

The branding for the 2006 British Army Expedition Team has been provided by event sponsor and Keighley company Nilorn Calmon.

Warrant Officer Dick Gale, 36, originally of Bradford Road in Otley, will fly out to the Himalayas with an advance party on March 16, 2006, to help set up base camp.

The West Ridge is regarded as the toughest face of the 8,848 metre peak and has only been successfully scaled by 13 people.

Nilorn Calmon UK is part of the Nilorn Worldwide group - one of the biggest label companies in the world.

Nilorn Calmon sales executive, Sean Lomax said: "As the departure dates loom, all the finishing touches are being finalised and we are making sure the teams all have their supporting banners, labels and badges ready for the trek.

"We are extremely pleased to be helping the British Army on this physically and mentally challenging climb and wish them good luck."
