Bradford & Bingley are looking for include some loan signings to bolster their squad for tomorrow's re-arranged Powergen National Trophy fifth-round tie at home to Exeter (1.45).

Bees head coach Geoff Wappett said: "We will be without centre Stuart Dixon in the medium term because he has a groin injury that will need an operation.

"Jon-Paul Rimington has a similar in-jury and is in a similar situation, and Phil Greaves is struggling with an ankle injury.

"Also we are without our Tongans Joey Nau and Hola Taufahema, who have both been called up for international duty, and while that is great for the club, it does cause team selection problems."

Wappett added: "We are obviously struggling in the centres and have no natural replacement at scrum half, so we have one or two feelers out for loan signings.

"And with Danny Greenhalgh suffering shooting pains down his arm, we might need to call Ronnie Kelly, who has been a good servant for us, out of retirement."

The Chiefs, who are seventh in National League One, are two divisions higher than the promotion-chasing Bees but aren't being sidetracked by the possibility of all-South West tie at old foes Redruth.

Exeter's chief executive Ian Bremner says: "We are expecting a very difficult game this weekend. The Bees have worked their way through the leagues and we are treating this the same way we would any game in our division.

"But we are without two, or possibly three, centres, two first-choice props and three wingers."

Although coaching consultant and former Otley and England player Nigel Melville has had no input into the Chiefs' preparation this week, defence coach John Kain, who helped Castleford Tigers to promotion, has and will be at Wagon Lane tomorrow.

Otley are certainly clocking up the miles this autumn, and their trip to face Cornish Pirates in National League One this weekend comes on the back of visits to Plymouth Albion in the league and London Scottish in the National Trophy.

"We beat Pirates home and away last season but Penzance is a very difficult place to go to and win, and they are a full-time professional outfit," says Otley coach Peter Clegg.

Otley have fly half Simon Binns back for Sunday's game, and centre Chris Hyndman returns after diarrhoea.

Wharfedale retain the same back divi-sion for the National League Two visit of Stourbridge. Antony Capstick takes up his usual second-row berth, and Philip Peel and Hedley Verity return from injury.

Alan Bentley describes Cleckheaton's home contest against New Brighton in National League Three North as a 'must-win game'. He said: "It is a chance to put some distance between ourselves and our opponents, who are two places and five points below us in the table." John Bentley is on the right wing for Cleckheaton after Leeds Tykes duties, while Jim Lamptey props.

Bradford Salem are without Damien Cope (shoulder injury) at Selby in York-shire Division One, while Keighley have Oliver Jackson in the second row at York.

Joe McArthur, back from New Zealand is at No 8, and Peter Schofield, who has been in France, is on the bench. Matt Gaffney returns at centre and Paul Sinfield starts at prop.
