Colin Todd sends City into the heat of another Yorkshire derby tomorrow aiming to signal a charge up the table.

Fifth-placed Barnsley come to Valley Parade two points above City after a five-match unbeaten run which earned Andy Ritchie the League One manager of the month crown for October.

But with leaders Southend playing second-placed Swansea, a win could lift the Bantams within five points of an automatic promotion spot.

The visit from the in-form Tykes begins a run of matches which Todd reckons his side can really get their teeth into.

"There are some great games coming up for us between now and Christmas," he said.

"After Barnsley, you've got the local derby with Huddersfield then Hartle

pool, who've picked their game up, and Bristol City and Southend. There are the cup ties as well so there are some real incentives. It's a real test for us to show what we are made of and reveal our character. The games on the way are a tremendous opportunity for that."

City will make two changes from the FA Cup with Andrew Taylor returning at left back and Damion Stewart getting his first start on the right. With Bobby Petta still out, Owen Morrison gets another chance to push his claims in midfield.

Todd said: "He's been training harder than the other boys and he'll be kept at it. There's no doubt Owen has a talent but he just lets himself down.

"He's had that much stick from me and been disciplined by the club and other managers might have totally ignored him. But I threw down the gauntlet and he came back very well.

"If Morrison continues to show what he did on Sunday then the likes of Petta and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson will see him as a threat, which is good."

City hope the game - brought forward to 2pm to avoid clashing with TV coverage of England - will attract a five-figure crowd. Barnsley have already sold 3,000 tickets.

The home players want to get more fans packed in the lower half of the Carlsberg Stand. A fans' forum with Dean Windass and Steve Schumacher last week revealed that the team would love to see supporters filling the seats behind the goal to improve the atmosphere.

Todd added: "Andy Ritchie has got a good side together at Barnsley and this has the hallmarks of an excellent game. They are on a high after their recent run but we've not done badly after losing only two in 11.

"I'm sure we will get a good crowd in and it's down to us to respond."
