Lothersdale 'A' had the edge over their 'C' team this week in their Keighley & District Table Tennis League Division One clash.

Keith Wilkinson was on song for the winners with a treble, although it took a monumental effort to overcome the challenge of Andrew Lambe 12-10, 9-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-6. Dave Adams weighed in with a couple, 11-5, 11-9, 11-6 against Richard Crookes and 13-11, 11-8, 11-5 against Martin Mulligan. A win for Bob Davis against Mulligan and another for Adams and Davis 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 against Lambe and Mulligan in the doubles ensured a 7-3 success for the 'A' team. Points for the losers came with wins for Lambe against Adams 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 5-11, 12-10 and Davis, plus a win for Crookes also against Davis.

Lothersdale 'B's Frazer Krischke contributed two of his sides three points with defeats of David Ayrton 11-5, 5-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-9 and Cath Lawson at home to Nelson Nomads and with only a win for Martin Connolly 11-8, 8-11, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10 against Lawson adding to his team mate's tally, the visitors comfortably registered a 7-3 victory. Once again it was Peter Wood who led the way for Nomads with his three wins including the defeat of Peter Midgley 5-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-6. David Ayrton chipped in with a couple against Midgley and Connolly, Lawson added another against Midgley and then Wood and Ayrton joined forces to outplay Krischke and Connolly 15-13, 11-6, 16-14 in the doubles.

Embassy 'C' were pleased to welcome back Palminder Sandhu whose reward for his selection was three points at Nemesis. Unfortunately only a solitary win for Les Wood against Tim Moran added further to the visitor's score as a Nemesis team prompted by Les Packer with wins against Tom Lacey 10-12, 11-7, 3-11, 11-2, 11-8 and Wood 12-10, 11-7, 13-15, 11-4 just managed to tip the balance their way. Tom Sampson added a couple more against Lacey and Wood and with a win for Moran against Lacey, plus success in the doubles 11-3, 9-11, 11-5, 11-8 for Packer and Moran against Lacey and Sandhu, the match ended 6-4 in favour of Nemesis.

Keith Lee won his three with the minimum of fuss for Ukrainian 'A' at home to Embassy 'B' who's threesome of Neil Foley, Geoff Bartlett and Mark Emmott found themselves completely outplayed by Ukies No.1. Mat Harrison added a couple against Bartlett and Emmott, but special mention must go to Jerry Harkawy, playing up from the 'B' team. Having only managed 2 wins out of 12 so far this season, the big-hearted Ukrainian doubled that tally with stunning wins against Bartlett 11-9, 10-12, 6-11, 11-9, 11-5 and Emmott 11-7, 9-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8 before only just losing out 15-17, 11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 11-6 to Foley as his team cruised to an 8-2 success.

In Division Two, Embassy 'D' moved smoothly up to 2nd with a hard fought 7-3 home win against up and coming stars Skipton. Alan Jeffrey managed a full house for the winners, but was made to battle all the way against Harry and Calum Davies before emerging victorious 11-4, 12-10, 9-11, 6-11, 11-5 and 11-5, 12-10, 5-11, 9-11, 11-7 respectively. Tim Sharp also notched a max before teaming up with Keith Brooke to defeat Calum and Graeme Davies 11-9, 11-7, 11-8 in the doubles. Points for Skipton came with one win for each player, all against Brooke.

In Division Three, Haworth Hawks 'B' fell prey in spectacular fashion to their high-flying 'A' team who had them in a flap following a whitewashing. The 'B' team's threesome of Michael Hogg, Robert Bray and Robert Sienkiewicz could find no hiding place as Nathan Hogg, Steve Cole and Andy Bray swooped in for the kill, although Bray ruffled Hogg's feathers before going down 8-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-2.

Oakbank tasted sweet victory for the second successive week with a good 7-3 home triumph against Ilkley Fastbats 'B'. Gary Storton was the star of the proceedings with a superb treble that included the defeat of Jack Arundel 5-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5. Steve Flockton added another couple against Simon Collinson 9-11, 3-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-6 and Laurie Picken. Alan Pearson also got the better of Collinson before teaming up with Flockton to clinch the doubles 13-15, 12-10, 8-11, 8-11, 10-12 against Picken and Arundel.
