Lower Hopton Res 3 Steeton Res 1 - Despite putting in a much improved performance Steeton Reserves came away from their encounter with Lower Hopton without a point.
Despite a bright start for the locals they were punished for defensive mistakes as Hopton took the lead on the 20 minute mark. However Steeton pushed on by Alex Fleming and Taff Mybe in midfield they clawed their way back into the game and Anthony Foulger's overhead kick brought them level. However, with the clock running down for half time they were again punished for lack of concentration and Hopton regained the lead.
The locals should have been awarded a penalty when Chris Turner appeared to be felled in the box, but the referee waved their protests away. Chris Galdes went close as well before Hopton caught them on the break to score a third.
The defeat was harsh on Steeton who had captain Rob Hansen in commanding form at the back.
n Keighley Lifts went down 4-1 to Westbrook YMCA. They held Westbrook to a single goal in the first half, but suffered after the break.
Mark Johnson scored Lifts' only goal.
