SOUTH Craven School's year seven boys and year seven girls' rugby league teams have won themselves the chance of a lifetime.

They have both qualified for the Yorkshire Powergen Schools finals and will play in curtain-raisers before tri-nations games later this month.

The boys will play before the Great Britain versus Australia tri-nations game at the KC Stadium in Hull on Saturday November 19. The girls will play before the grand final on Saturday November 26 at Elland Road.

After winning the North Yorkshire qualifying stages in York, the boys' team went to the Dewsbury Rams stadium for the regional stages. They beat Whitkirk of Leeds, St John Fisher of Dewsbury, and Bradford-based Queensbury to reach the final where they will play Castleford High School.

The girls won their group stage at the Leeds Rhinos' training ground on Wednesday. They beat John Smeaton (Leeds) by five tries to one and Airedale (Wakefield) by four tries to one. They drew their other game 3-3 with Earlsheaton (Dewsbury). Their results saw them reach the final at Elland Road when they will face North Halifax School.
