Susskind -- Open Your Eyes

Cracking debut EP from one of Keighley's brightest musical prospects.

Opening track The Reason begins very much like Metallica's One before progressing into a song more akin to a less-grungy Nirvana.

Headlights is a much quieter and more introspective tune with its delicate layered verses making way for a hugely catchy chorus.

Angel is 100% pure rock with some clever guitar breaks thrown in for good measure.

Final track Mr Blue Sky rounds off the package nicely with more of the same.

There's not a bad song on here. The production leaves a bit to be desired but that said, Susskind's quality more than shines through.

Bloodhound Gang -- Hefty Fine

Quite what the Bloodhound Gang have been up to since 2000 is anyone's guess after listening to this decidedly lacklustre affair.

With two possible exceptions the album is completely bereft of the rap/rock anthems we'd come to expect.

For some reason the band have chosen to swap their trademark guitar riffs for a cheesier electronic sound.

And this is a move which will

surely alienate many of their fans.

Gone too are Jimmy Pop's witty rhymes and his clever impromptu skits.

All in all this is a huge

disappointment from a hugely influential band.
