A father and son business duo, originally from Bradford, are hoping to set the world alight with their new web-based Recommended Business Network.
Terry and Mark Chapman, pictured, who are based in the north-east, are introducing the "round-the-clock, electronic marketplace" to 350 places across the country, 34 of them in Yorkshire.
Companies pay a fee to ensure representation in given postcode areas. Mr Chapman said firms could expect referrals for work in their field of expertise.
"Although the RBN application process is not onerous, acceptance is dependant upon the provision of two references," said Mr Chapman senior. "Furthermore, as an assurance of each member's 'recommended' status, the receipt of two substantiated complaints within any six-month period, will result in membership being withdrawn.
"As well as being on the worldwide web, RBN differentiates itself from the standard concept of networking in that members earn a finder's fee for each new member introduced and will earn a commission for each introduction of work to a fellow member."
