Reaching the Grand Final may already represent a remarkable transformation for the Bulls but it won't mean anything if they lose to Leeds Rhinos on Saturday, says skipper Jamie Peacock.

"Getting to the final is all well and good but we've got to win it," said Peacock.

"We are not going there just to enjoy the occasion. We've put in too much hard work. We've got to go there and perform against a good team. We got there and lost last year and that was not good enough."

Peacock's troops will ride an 11-match win streak into Old Trafford and will be toughened even further by Friday night's brutal victory over St Helens.

After the previous week's record drubbing of Hull the Bulls were brought down to earth by the spirited Saints, admitted Peacock.

"It can be difficult going into a game when you have won like we did against Hull. You can maybe get a bit soft mentally. So Friday night was good for us.

"We showed a lot of character out there. Both teams were knackered but we showed a lot of toughness. We showed how much it meant to us. It stands us in good stead for the Grand Final. We are battle-hardened now."

Peacock has led from the front as the Bulls resurrected a season that just three months ago looked doomed to end in dispiriting fashion.

He may be Leeds bound but Peacock will look back on his final days at the club with

satisfaction.

"It has been pretty special. You can feel in the dressing room the emotion and just how much everyone cares for each other, how much we have gelled. Having blokes leaving has maybe helped us.

"It is pretty charged for every game. The guys who are leaving are fired up and everyone else wants to play for them."

No team has ever won the Grand Final after finishing

outside of the top two in the league table but Peacock dismissed suggestions the Bulls will run of petrol against the well-rested Rhinos.

"Having played Friday gives us eight days' rest and that is plenty of time. And it is going to mean that much more to us because it has been so hard to get there.

"It's not like we finished top, won one game and sailed in. We have been on the ropes now for 11 weeks."
