For his Captain's Away Day, Malcolm Walker chose Seaton Carew Golf Club in Hartlepool, the tenth-oldest golf club in England and a past venue for the English County Finals and the British Mid-Amateur Championships. The individual winner on count-back was Charlie Cox from Kevin Smith, each with 37 points, with Andy Quinn a close third on 36, the only three players to equal or better par. Jon Stones won both nearest the pin and the longest drive. Charlie Cox's team of Russell Stead, Ken Hunter and Andy Snowden was victorious in the team Stableford.

Both divisions of the September Monthly Stableford saw some fine golf played. In Division 1, Russell Beck (11) emerged as the winner with 44 points from George Burrell (13) on 42 and David Noble (14) with 41. Richard Beilby (17) carried off Division 2 on countback with 44 points from Richard Partis (18) with Kevin Dixon (19) third on 43.

The September Weekday Stableford went to Stan Fawcett (23) with 41 points, from Joe Parry (5) on 38pts and Harry Johnson (17) with 36pts.

Cold, rainy conditions were a factor in the October Monthly Medal, with the best return being Jack Lampkin's 77-7-70 in Divison 1, from Stuart Thomson 85-12-73 and Roger Lucas 87-14-73 after countback. In Division 2, Paul Fryers returned a creditable 91-20-71, with Mike Boyle in second on 95-22-73 and George Auterson third on countback with 89-16-73.
