Skirlaugh Bulls Under 17's 14 Cougar Cubs 15 - A Joe Milner penalty got the Cubs on the score board after five minutes in this tough Humberside encounter. Good handling by the backs saw Tim Bibby cross the white wash for a try converted by Milner. Before Skirlaugh hit back with a try and two penalties to level the scores. The Cougars however were determined to go into the break ahead Bibby finding the target with a field goal just before half time. The home side threw everything at the Cubs after the restart and were rewarded with a try and goal but the Cubs kept their cool and regained the lead from a Gavin Mezels try goaled by Bibby in the dying seconds of the game to take the points. This was an excellent win built around a good performance from props Snowden and Gillard.

The Cubs hardly broke sweat in this comprehensive victory, cruising into an early 18-point lead in the first five minutes, with tries from Burton, Howson, Haythornthwaite and Walker and a Cartledge goal. Parmenter scored the home side's only points of the first half converting his own try, before Eccleston, Kelly and Burton all crossed for tries before the break giving the Cubs a 30-6 half time lead. A mini revival saw the Rangers add two more penalties in the second period but tries for Haythornthwaite (3) Eccleston, Carlos and Anderton meant the result was never in doubt.
Cubs Under-14s 24
Wibsey 10
This was the third encounter in as many weeks between the Cubs and Wibsey, and it was clear that both knew of each others strengths. But Matty Bailey romped home from 30 metres out to open the scoring for the Cubs. This was quickly followed by a second from Ethan Hawksworth to give the Cubs a half time 12-0 lead. Another score by Jake Waddington looked to have sealed victory but a strong fight back by a determined Wibsey side saw them score. The Cubs were steadied by a try from Jack Copperwaite, but Wibsey kept up their strong second half display by scoring the final try. A 100 per cent conversion rate from Richard Veazey kept the pressure on Wibsey.
Guiseley Under-13s 10
Cougar Cubs 38
The Cubs romped to their first league win with a seven-try haul. Martyn Broadley scored two first half tries and Ben Stead also scored after chipping over the defence to secure a 16-0 lead at the break.
Guiseley hit back with two tries but Cubs weren't going to let the game slip and Connor Caveney scored twice with Josh Ives also diving through. The final try of the match was a great team effort finished by Broadley.
Cubs Under-9s v Littleborough
Cubs lost by two points in a closely contested game with both teams scoring nine tries. Jack Kennedy scored five and Brodie Hudson (2) with Daniel Roberts and Ben Benfield scoring one each. There was some impressive tackling and awards went to Jack Wild, Daniel roberts and Jamie Millar with Brodie Hudson named man of the match.
Cubs Under-8s
Slaithwaite Saracens
Once again the Under-8s strong midfield tackling led by Bailey Horvath and Niall Walsh and the winger's cover defence practically shut out the opposition. Connor Dunford's decisive running allowed him to score six tries. Other tries came from Joe Mash and Bailey Horvath. Award winners were Niall Walsh, Callum Dickson and Joe Marsh with Connor Dunford the man of the match . Liam Stewart and Callum Dixon show promising signs in only their second match.
