COACH John Lawn reckons his side could be facing their biggest test of the season when they travel to Moseley tomorrow.

Impressed by the Birmingham side last season, he fancies them to be right up at the top this year.

"They will ask some questions of us and I'm looking forward to getting the answers," he said.

One thing the Greens have been working on in training this week has been direct running. And, due to the typically strange rulings of the powers that be in rugby which kept the whole division inactive last weekend during perfect rugby weather, they have had to wait to put practice into action.

"Against Halifax we were a bit too lateral, running towards the touch line rather than the try line and that cost us the win," said Lawn.

So it is a mixture of tactics and rewarding good performances that has prompted Lawn to make some subtle changes to the team for tomorrow's game.

Captain Andrew Baggett moves in from the wing and returns to the centre with Mark Bedworth dropping to full back and Simon Whaites to the bench. James Hutchinson, who came on to score a fine try against Halifax, takes Baggett's berth on the wing.

Lawn explained that Baggett added fluidity to the midfield defence and would straighten up the lines of attack. He admitted that the form of Hutchinson had also prompted the move, but hinted heavily that Whaites would play some part.

In the forwards Lawn has sprung a surprise by demoting David Lister to the bench and bringing in Oliver Renton.

"He's there to do a job. I think we have been struggling round the fringes of the breakdown and giving it away too easily," explained Lawn. "Renton's strong and he has performed well in the seconds and when he has come on for us so he's there for tactics as well as form."

Moseley, a club with a long distinguished history, sit proudly at the top of the division and won this fixture 23-11 last year.
